Born in 1978 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Dave Tolley’s interest in Percussion began at an early age. While studying piano, Dave figured out that hitting stuff was much more fun. At 11, he created a makeshift kit from a set of bongos and a handful of cardboard boxes and never looked back. Dave has performed with several different acts in the Toronto area and continues to perform and play sessions. Read More

img_64861I love this pic! Thanks to Ilia Horsburgh for taking it. The Danny Michel shows were great. Stay tuned for  some more in the fall. I’ll be updating the gig calendar soon for the summer. Taking a little bit of time this summer to chill out before the craziness starts in the fall. Keep an eye on the show list for all the details.

Danny Michel and The Camptown Racers

shapeimage_2Hi Music Fans,

Just wanted to hit you guys with an update of some upcoming shows. I’m excited to be playing with Danny Michel at a few shows coming up. Check out the gig section for the dates. He’s such a creative and musical artist. www.dannymichel.com

Also, I’ve been working on a drum loop library that will be available in the fall. We’ve started the tracking and I’ve had the pleasure of working with an amazing musician/producer named Tim Abraham. You can check him out at www.timothyabraham.com We’re working on some really cool creative tools for singer, songwriters, and producers to use in their home studios. I’ll let everyone knows when it’s available.

Stay tuned for the new Nine Mile studio record out in the fall and a tour to follow.

Big Bass Drum

Australia  was awesome. I just got back from some amazing shows with Xavier Rudd at Bluesfest in Byron Bay. What a great festival. Recently, I’ve been busy at home in Toronto. Played some drums on Mojave’s upcoming record and recently did a show in Waterloo with Mike Alviano. Check out the video below. Found this great old bass drum.

So, I’ve been pretty bad at updating. I’m sorry. Spring has hit Toronto and I’m stoked to be able to open the windows again.

I’ve been doing some shows with Brian MacMillan and Nine Mile. It’s been great playing with these guys. I’m also getting excited to get to Australia and play with Xavier again. We’ve been on a little break and it’ll be great to great to hit the stage again. Check out Bluesfest in Byron Bay, Australia if you can. There are so many great acts playing there.

Australian Tour Over…

Hi Guys,

Thanks to everyone who came out to the shows across Australia. The tour ended with some great shows and musical experiences. Kuranda, Belvoir and Busselton were just awesome gigs. Also got to see some great players in Adelaide at the Guitar Festival. You need to check out Mia Dyson, Rob Sawyer, and Ash Grunwald. Everyone put on a great show.

We’re off to Europe for a couple of weeks before we head home for some much needed rest.

Stay Safe
